Mini "Gefilte Fish" Cookie Jar Favors

k

I don’t know what to say for myself with this one. I set out to make something cute for Purim; somehow, I ended up here. And I think I love them!?! It’s mishloach manot and it’s a jumpscare, all at once.

I suppose “no actual fish involved “ is the most important thing to say—these are just cookies and gummies. Place them on your Passover table (with KFP versions of the same treats inside), send them on Purim, or gift them at random to friends you’d like to confuse.

“Gefilte Fish” Cookie Jars

Gummy carrots

Round shortbread cookies, or pecan puff cookies rolled in light brown sugar, or KFP cookies if needed

Small glass jars, ideally 2–4 ounces

Label paper

Scissors

Alphabet letter stamps and ink

Metallic gold Sharpie

Prepare the cookies according to your chosen recipe—or pick up a batch from your favorite bakery.

Layer the jars by alternating cookies and gummy carrots.

Seal the jars, then make your labels. Stamp a punny message onto label paper, add decorative touches with a Sharpie, cut to size, and stick onto each jar.
